Movie Magic Monday: Vlogs Galore

Jackson Pearce is doing a thirty days of vlogs feature on her blog. The topics are everything and anything (no seriously, mythbusters and the proper wearing of wigs all make an appearance). And although it may not be a movie persay, it is most certainly entertaining. Go check her out, especially her post today about book pirates (there’s a puppet!).

She  makes me want to vlog, if only to see what a certified disaster it would be.

Fun Friday: Released this Week!

Sisters Red by Jackson Pearce was released this week, and it’s one of the two books I’ve most been looking forward to this summer (the other is Maggie Stiefvater’s Linger, from the Wolves of Mercy Falls series!)

If you haven’t heard about Sisters Red, this is the summary from goodreads:

Scarlett March lives to hunt the Fenris– the werewolves that took her eye when she was defending her sister Rosie from a brutal attack. Armed with a razor-sharp hatchet and blood-red cloak, Scarlett is an expert at luring and slaying the wolves. She’s determined to protect other young girls from a grisly death, and her raging heart will not rest until every single wolf is dead.

Rosie March once felt her bond with her sister was unbreakable. Owing Scarlett her life, Rosie hunts fiercely alongside her. Now Rosie dreams of a life beyond the wolves and finds herself drawn to Silas, a young woodsman who is deadly with an ax– but loving him means betraying her sister and has the potential to destroy all they’ve worked for.

Twenty-five-year-old Jackson Pearce delivers a dark, taut fairy tale with heart-pounding action, fierce sisterly love, and a romance that will leave readers breathless.

I’m so excited to read this.  The cover itself would have drawn me in and held me captive, but I’ve been watching Jackson Pearce’s blog and twitter, and I really just think she’s one of the smartest, sassiest authors to hit YA in a while, and I’m excited to watch her take the YA market by force.

Movie Magic Monday: Dance Break

I may just start posting some viral videos on Mondays. There is so much awesome stuff to see on youtube! 🙂

This video proves I need to get a camcorder. Jackson Pearce is my hero.

Movie Magic Monday: Sisters Red Book Trailer

Book trailers don’t really count as movies, I know, but I saw this on Jackson Pearce’s blog and couldn’t wait to share it.

The narration is beautiful and chilling. Another to add to the TBR pile.
