Forget everything you ever knew about unicorns . . .
Real unicorns are venomous, man-eating monsters with huge fangs and razor-sharp horns. Fortunately, they’ve been extinct for a hundred and fifty years.
Or not.
Astrid had always scoffed at her eccentric mother’s stories about killer unicorns. But when one of the monsters attacks her boyfriend—thereby ruining any chance of him taking her to the prom—Astrid finds herself headed to Rome to train as a unicorn hunter at the ancient cloisters the hunters have used for centuries.
However, at the cloisters all is not what it seems. Outside, the unicorns wait to attack. And within, Astrid faces other, unexpected threats: from the crumbling, bone-covered walls that vibrate with a terrible power to the hidden agendas of her fellow hunters to—perhaps most dangerously of all—her growing attraction to a handsome art student . . . an attraction that could jeopardize everything.
If you haven’t been hearing about Killer Unicorns… well you’re not on Twitter.
Get thee to Killerunicorns.org, where you can learn more about these dangerous creatures, what to do when you see a unicorn, and whether you have what it takes to become a unicorn hunter.
Rampant by Diana Peterfreund is already getting some great reader reviews, and looks pretty kickass, I’ve got to say. Who doesn’t love a teenage girl destined to fight? That’s right, nobody. Go out and check out Rampant ASAP. I certainly mean to!

I’m really excited about this book. One, because turning unicorns into killing machines=genius. And two, because I do love a good female warrior.
I can’t wait to pick this up.

I was intrigued but kind of dubious about this book (because, GOD, am I so over all thins paranormal right now) until someone whose taste I trust compared it to Buffy. Then I bought it. It’s currently second in my to-read queue.

Yeah, I almost compared it to Buffy in this post, really… even though I’ve almost never watched Buffy. I think it’s a decent comparison.
